How much does it cost?
Rather than a cost, I think of enrolling in Job Hunt Bootcamp as an investment. And with any investment, there’s an anticipated return. In the case of the Bootcamp, the return on your investment could be a number of things: If you’re currently unemployed, it could be an income stream. If you’re not happy in your work, it could be a job you love. If you’re underpaid, it could be a sizable increase in compensation. If you’re overworked, it could be work/life balance. If you’re feeling underutilized and underappreciated, it could be a job that gives you fulfillment and a sense of purpose.
The investment in Job Hunt Bootcamp is split into two parts: The first part is the enrollment fee and it’s paid upfront. The second part, the success fee, is not paid until you accept your job offer.
I’ve structured the investment this way because I want it to be clear that I’m not fully compensated until you get what you want. I have a vested interest in helping you get your next job.
Additionally, the success fee is proportional to the compensation in your new job. The more money I help you make in your next job, the greater the reward for my help. I have an incentive to help you obtain the best offer possible.
The enrollment fee to join the Bootcamp is $4000 and the success fee is 2%. And the success fee isn’t paid until you receive your job offer.
Here’s how we calculate the success fee: We look at your total first-year compensation (base salary, anticipated bonus, and the portion of equity vested in the first year) and round it to the nearest $100k. I call this the Rounded First-Year Total Compensation (RFYTC).
So, for instance, if your offer consists of a base salary of $100k, a 30% annual bonus program ($30k), and a stock grant of $100k ($25k attributed to the first year), your total first-year compensation is $155k and the RFYTC is $200k. Then, we take 2% of the RFYTC. In this example, the success fee would be $4k.
Finally, I should point out that once you’re enrolled in Job Hunt Bootcamp, you’ll receive my help and guidance, my job hunt framework, and the support of the Bootcamp community until you get your next job, regardless of how long that takes.
